(Open RP) Watchtower Duty
Sunday, 8 June 2014 18:04Earth was suspended in the black, it's emerald and sapphire surface partly obscured by the cold dark of space. Clark could see it all through the sealed glass windows of the Watchtower, the surveillance systems that most of the other Leaguers needed was next to him, unused.
He could see Lois occupying their apartment in Metropolis, buried in a paper trail that she would follow until it's end before sunrise. He wished he could be down there with her, but he had his job to do, they both knew that. He knew that if he tried to sneak his way out of Watchtower duty, Lois would be the first to reprimand him. He loved her all the more for that.
He had forgotten who else was scheduled to keep watch with him. It wasn't strange for him to be the first one there though, unless it was Bruce or J'onn he was standing with. Wally, especially, would probably be late.
He could check the schedule, but he decided to wait for the surprise. Besides, watching Earth from this distance, at this time of day, always calmed him. His eyes were glued to his adoptive planet, and he didn't wish to look away.
